West Savannah was the site of two momentous events today.
The one hundred ten units of phase one of Sustainable Fellwood are officially open.
The new Housing Authority of Savannah project already has nine families that have moved in and expect all the units to be filled by September.
They also broke ground for phase two today which will include another one hundred ten affordable housing units and single family homes.
“Fellwood was once a very important part of this community and it is coming back. It is a place people can be proud of. It’s going to offer savings we are building green,” says Earline Davis of the Housing Authority.
Future phases will include a senior housing apartment building along with possible retail, medical and technical space.
